At S J Building Contractors Ltd we have a combined experience of over of 50 years and understand the vital importance of health and safety at work. All our employees and operatives hold current and valid CSCS and CPCS. Some hold SSMSTS – Site Management Safety Training Scheme and First Aid at Work.
As well as the extensive safety training carried out we also recruit up to six apprentices every year. Furthermore we support management training up to NVQ level 5.
Our rolling training programme ensures that our personnel are competent, have the necessary skill sets and are fully conversant with current legislation and new initiatives. We have representation on the National Executive Board of The National Federation of Builders and on the Advisory Committee at North Devon College.

- Experienced Groundworkers with Current and Valid dumper ticket CPCS or NPORS
- Experienced Excavator Operators with current and valid above 10t with Lifting Ops ticket CPCS or NPORS
- Class 1 Low Loader Driver – also Class 2 HIAB driver must have experience – freelance considered
